I am also dual-booting Vista RC2 and XP but will wait until RC2 expires before getting a retail version of Vista or an OEM version. Since OEM disks won't work after a motherboard upgrade I might just get the retail upgrade version and hope that all my stuff on XP runs on Vista if I dump XP (dual-boot).

Why "duel-boot" (sic), If you read it again, that was deliberate. Anyone who is having problems doing it is simply listening to ALL the wrong advice, or has absolutely no idea how to install ANY OS. They should take their machines to techs who know how to do it. If all one wants is to run Vista... go buy a PC with

How to duel boot?
Doing the dual-boot via the BIOS setting makes the eventual removal of one of the OSes much easier - just reformat its partition and <Poof!> it's gone, and no worries about adjusting the boot files. This doesn't address the loss of restore points in Vista when XP is booted, does it? My guess is that it would not

I believe in Vista BIOS I can have it duel boot off a USB drive. I don't know if the ME OS would balk if booted w/ a VISTA CPU. I'd suspect it would just see a faster CPU. The ME OS would not be on a NTFS-formatted drive (rather on FAT 16 or FAT 32) but none of my flash drives are this way either and they work OK.
