Can I hope for better performance in xp (512MB RAM) after duel boot? Dual (not "duel") booting doesn't improve performance. If you are asking whether XP will give you better performance with 512MB than Vista with 512MB, the answer is almost certainly yes. However, I still don't understand the point of dual booting.

Hi All Anyone with Vista Boot Pro 3.3. I run Vista Home Prem , Runs great. I have vista installed on one hard drive by itself , XP Home on a second Hard Drive,with 2 other storage partitions. No Duel boot setup. I installed Vista Boot Pro on the Vista drive,set vista as default drive and added xp and drive path.

The run the Vista install while you're logged into XP and install vista on the other partition (same drive). Use the rest of the space for documents. Are you sure a can do that with a OEM version? I installed a working dual-boot between XP and Vista using TWO so-called "FULL OEM" disks (XP and Vista).

Why "duel-boot" (sic), when its not even NECESSARY to use BootCamp to install ANY Intel-based OS on an Apple Intel PC? And Apple itself made this Vista and XP are probably the worst o/s out there you can use. If you want to listen to music or play games, then that is about all it is good for. Listen to music?

This is one of the deciding factors of me purchasing my notebook now as opposed to waiting a bit longer - it has Linux installed, but I suspect that I will need to duel boot with Windwos for future work; no way will I get Vista, XP was only obtained (with notebook) under protest.
